Uniting in prayer is a powerful way that we can come together to show support for our persecuted brothers and sisters in faith. We can come together and pray, especially for those who can’t safely pray themselves.
Reach out to your local community to set up a group prayer session!
Planning & Logistics
- Pick a date, time, and location (church, home, park, school gym, coffee shop – whatever fits your community).
- Decide the format (e.g. open prayer, structured service, music & scripture, candlelight vigil, etc.).
- You can check with your pastor or local leaders to coordinate space or support.
Invite & Promote
- Create a simple flyer (digital or print) – include date, time, purpose, and a line like: “Join us as we pray for persecuted Christians in Ukraine.”
- Text or DM friends/family directly with a casual invite (“Hey… we’re doing a short prayer night for Ukraine this Friday, you in?”).
- Post in local Facebook groups, church bulletins, or neighborhood forums.
- Announce at church or youth group (ask for 30 seconds during announcements).
Faith-Focused Content
- Prepare a few scripture readings around perseverance, suffering, unity, or bold faith (can be led by different people).
- Optional: Choose a few songs that align with the message (acoustic worship, instrumental background, or pre-made playlist).
- Provide prayer prompts or cards – things people can read or pray over silently or out loud.
Next Steps & Follow-Up
- Take a group photo (if appropriate) and post it with the hashtag #RussiasWarOnFaith to raise awareness.
- Collect emails or contact info of anyone interested in future prayer gatherings or updates.
