Hold a Movie Screening

Organizing a film screening is an easy way to let the facts speak for themselves.

We recommend the newly-released documentary A Faith Under Siege, which offers a powerful view of the persecution faced by ordinary people under Russian occupation. The creators are making it available to screen for free!

You don’t need to rent a movie theater to hold a screening. No matter where you live, there is likely a community center or congregation in your area that will be willing to host a screening for free!

A Faith Under Siege: Russia’s Hidden War on Ukraine’s Christians

In a region once celebrated as the post-Soviet “Bible Belt,” a rapidly growing community of Evangelical and Protestant believers becomes a prime target under Russia’s expanding occupation – enduring seized churches, tortured pastors, and abducted children as they struggle to keep their faith alive in secret.

Holding a screening of this important film is EASY:

  1. Find a venue. This can be a movie theater near you, but it can also be a church, synagogue, library, university lecture hall – or anywhere with a lot of chairs, where you can bring in a projector!
  2. Fill out the form on the Faith Under Siege website. They’ll give you access to the film file, and a toolkit of materials you can use to let your community know about the movie screening
  3. Use the social media toolkit you’ll receive to spread the word!
  4. Invite your family, friends, and the rest of your community
  5. Let the local media know (easy instructions & templates here)
  6. Take photos at the screening event, and post them to social media with the hashtag #RussiasWarOnFaith

Do I have to pay to show this film? (No!)

The creators of A Faith Under Siege are generously making their film available for community screenings at no charge.

If you fill in the intent form to host a screening on their website, they will send you a complete screening kit, including the movie itself, and social media posts you can use to promote the screening in your community.

Do I have to rent a screening space?

Odds are good that you can find a place to screen this movie for FREE!

The following venues usually have movie screening facilities, and will often make them available free of charge as long as the event is free and open to the community:

  • Churches and other religious centers
  • Libraries
  • Universities
  • Other local community centers
